Appointments

Patient phone calls during office hours are handled by our front office staff and are answered in the order in which they are received. We apologize if you are placed on hold, but your call will receive our full attention when answered.

To best accommodate our patients, we schedule all of our office visits by appointment only and make every attempt to best accommodate your schedule. Typically, you can expect to receive an appointment within 2-3 weeks or less.

Same day appointments are available for problems that we consider emergent or urgent in nature. Our highly trained staff can assist you in answering your questions, determining the urgency of your problem, and scheduling an appointment.

At the time of your appointment, every effort is made to keep your wait time to a minimum. A sincere attempt is made to adhere to the appointment schedule, but occasionally we have an emergent or complicated situation. While we apologize if a situation like this arises during your visit with us, we assure you that you will be given our full attention during your exam.

As you are planning for your initial or complete eye examination, please be advised that your appointment can take up to 1½ to 2 hours to complete. We recommend that you complete the new patient forms prior to your appointment and bring them with you on the day of your exam.

What to bring to your appointment:

  • All medical insurance cards
  • Photo ID – driver’s license, state ID, passport, college ID
  • List of medications
  • Method of payment for co-pays and non-covered out-of-pocket fees
  • A parent or legal guardian if the patient is a minor
  • Completed Medical History & Patient Information forms (new patients only)

Canceling an Appointment
We recognize that illness and other unplanned circumstances arise. If you cannot keep your appointment, please make every attempt to give our office 24 hours notice. This courtesy allows us to utilize the appointment for another patient. Please be advised that you may incur a charge for a missed appointment if less than 24 hours notice is provided or you do not show up without notifying us.

After Hours Emergency Calls

If you have an emergency when our office is closed, we recommend that you go to your nearest emergency room for treatment. If you are not sure if you should go to the emergency room, you can contact the on-call physician by calling our answering service at 248.855.1020.
